Wheelchair-friendly

The four-star Grand Hotel Arion is a wheelchair-friendly hotel. We also have 4 special care rooms, with 2 on the sea side and 2 on the city side. These rooms are equipped for use by disabled guests and guests with restricted mobility, and are designed to ensure that our disabled guests are not constantly confronted with their disability.
The special care rooms are easy for disabled guests to use because:

  • there are no doorsteps
  • the furniture is laid out differently
  • there are extra wide doors
  • there is a shower instead of a bath
  • anti-slip tiles have been fitted in the bathroom
  • there is a lowered washbasin with a special outlet, on which it is not possible to burn yourself.


If required, we can install additional aids for you, such as handrails in the bathroom and a height-adjustable bed.
These are not supplied as standard, but we can order them for you via the home care service.

Wheelchair-friendly Vlissingen

It goes without saying that the entire hotel and restaurant are accessible by wheelchair. There is a spacious disabled toilet on the ground floor. Fortunately, Vlissingen boulevard and many of the attractions, such as the MuZeeum and the Arsenal, are also wheelchair-friendly.
 

Specially adapted room for the disabled

For guests who require more facilities, we have 1 completely adapted room with a view of the sea. This room comes with all the standard conveniences. The rooms have the same features as the special care rooms, plus extra handrails, a shower seat and an alarm.
As we have worked with the Home Care Service of the Province of Zeeland for many years, we can provide you with any aids you require, from a height-adjustable bed to a hoist. During your stay, our cooperation with the home care service means we can also provide you with the same level of help you receive at home, so that you can relax and enjoy your holiday!
